Swiss dairy firm Emmi has announced the acquisition of the US dessert business Indulge Desserts from AUA Private Equity for an undisclosed sum.
Emmi has agreed to purchase an 87.7% stake in the company as part of its strategy to strengthen its dessert business in the US.
Founded in 1993, Indulge Desserts is a manufacturer of American and international dessert specialties, which it manufactures in four facilities. Its portfolio includes Cannoli Factory, Love & Quiches, Elegant Desserts and Joey’s.
Urs Riedener, CEO of the Emmi Group, says: “With Indulge Desserts we are not only acquiring a highly innovative and agile Center of excellence for desserts with a strong market position in the USA, we are also opening up new sales opportunities for our premium desserts from Italy”.
