Nestle, the Swiss food and drink processing conglomerate, is doubling its investment in Mexico to $2 billion as the company looks to tap into the country’s growth opportunities.
According to Food Dive, the food giant will invest an additional $1 billion between 2028 and 2030 to strengthen production capabilities, modernise facilities, incorporate technology and develop sustainable processes. This follows a previous $1 billion investment announced last year for the 2025 to 2027 period. Just Food notes that Nestle operates 11 factories in Mexico covering beverages, dairy products, nutrition and health science, prepared dishes, confectionery and pet care, marketing global brands like Nescafe alongside local labels such as Abuelita.
Mexico represents one of Nestle’s larger markets, accounting for 4% of the firm’s 89.49 billion CHF ($107.2 billion) in sales for fiscal 2025. In Mexico specifically, the business generated sales of SFr3.58 billion ($4.3 billion) in 2025, down 6.8% on a year earlier, according to Just Food.
Fausto Costa, CEO of Nestle Mexico, stated: “This new phase reflects our confidence in the country’s potential and our commitment to continue growing alongside Mexico”.
