Australia: Coca-Cola Europacific Partners invests in Kewdale manufacturing upgrade

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), the beverage manufacturer, has unveiled an A$60.1 million ($39.7 million) upgrade to its Kewdale manufacturing facility in Western Australia, reinforcing its long-term commitment to local production.

The investment focuses on a new state-of-the-art can production line, which will increase manufacturing capacity by over 40%. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week during peak season, the upgraded line has the capacity to produce 16 million cases, equivalent to approximately 384 million cans. Production speeds increase from approximately 1,060 to 1,500 cans per minute, delivering enhanced automation, flexibility and improved water and energy efficiency.

Tom Schiebling, CCEP director of manufacturing, stated: “This upgrade is one of the largest investments in Kewdale’s recent history and reflects our long term belief in manufacturing in Western Australia”.

Operating for more than 50 years, the Kewdale site employs 300 staff and stands as CCEP’s fourth-largest manufacturing facility in Australia.
